Live, Work
and Invest
The North possesses distinct economic and industrial strengths; a strong sense of identity rooted individual places and common Northern heritage; and proud people with a reputation for endeavour, wit and grit.
Home to 15.6 million people and a workforce of 7.2 million , with an economy now worth £359.4 billion, the Northern Powerhouse is thriving; from five of the UK’s ten largest cities (Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle and Sheffield), to the towns that give the North so much of its distinct offer, right through to world-class rural and coastal assets.
Our Network of 11 LEPs
By working more closely together across the North’s 11 LEP areas, we believe we can make the whole of the North greater than its individual parts. Our ambition is to create a prosperous economic powerhouse that has the force to drive economic opportunities, creating a North where companies choose to invest and create jobs, people choose to live because of the unrivalled quality of life and rising living standards, and everyone is supported to reach their full potential.
